Confounding


Instructions:
  1. Read: Aschengrau and Seage, ch. 11 - Confounding, and ch. 13 - Effect Measure Modification

  2. Read the lecture slides and attend the lecture (if you cannot attend the lecture, the slides have verbatim speaker notes; there are also recorded audio tutorials, but these are not as up-to-date as the speaker notes).

  3. Read (Slide presentation in confounding module in Blackboard and film [classroom course])

  4. Answer (all of) the case study questions. Write succinct answers that include a brief explanation or statement of support.

  5. (Optional, but earns credit) Submit the answers to the starred case study questions (numbers 1, 2, 4, 6, and 9 - see the class schedule for due date).

  6. Discuss the answers to (all of) the case study questions with your small group.

  7. Agree on the answers (including the brief explanation or statement of support), so the facilitator can submit the group’s consensus answers (for all questions) by the date indicated in the class schedule.
